We all like to do our bit where we can and for some people, this comes in the form of donating money to a charity. Of course, there are so many important and worthy charities to choose from that it can feel difficult to know which ones to donate to.
If you love your pooches as much as we do, one option is to donate to one or even two dog charities. To help you narrow down the choice, we've gathered together some of the leading dog charities you may wish to donate your hard-earned cash to.
There are many different ways you can donate to these wonderful dog charities including monthly or one-off payments or even as a gift in your will. Alternatively, you may be interested in getting a little more hands-on and volunteering or fundraising.
Dogs Trust
Perhaps one of the most well-known dog charities, money raised by Dogs Trust is used to invest in their rehoming centres so that they can continue to be there for the nation's dogs. It funds preventative work to help protect dogs in the future and helps invest in, develop and promote information to help dog owners understand the needs of their pooch pals.
Battersea
One of the UK’s oldest charities that have been going since 1860, you'll probably recognise the name of this charity from their work with the fabulous Paul O'Grady and his show The Love Of Dogs. Battersea works hard to achieve their vision that every dog and cat should live in a home where they are treated with love, care and respect.
Hearing Dogs for Deaf People
Helping to train dogs to alert deaf people to sounds they would otherwise miss, you can either sponsor a puppy for £3 a month to help this charity or alternatively make a single or monthly donation instead.
RSPCA
Did you know the RSPCA were the first to introduce a law to protect animals? As well as working to ensure that all animals live free from pain and suffering, they campaign to raise standards of care, and awareness of issues that affect animals today.
Blue Cross
Blue Cross look after thousands of cats, dogs, small pets and horses. They transform the lives of pets in the UK by helping to provide life-saving operations, paying for their food or finding loving new homes. You can make a one-off donation or select a monthly amount. We love that you can even donate in memory of your pet.
Wood Green
Home of The Dog House on Channel 4, Wood Green rehomes a variety of pets from dogs to cats to guinea pigs, rabbits, rats and even ducks and chickens. As well as providing safe shelter, they offer medical care, training and more.
Jerry Green Dog Rescue
