How did this product make your life easier?

Having recently gained a lovely long-haired Ragdoll cat, vacuuming my carpets twice a day has become an essential part of my cleaning routine. Weighing just 2.72 kg, it makes cleaning a large, carpeted room far easier than my traditional corded hoover did – which often left me feeling like I’d just done an upper body workout. This vacuum gracefully glides over my flooring without hardly any force required and is perfect for helping to remove crumbs, bits of fluff and pesky traces of litter (that fellow cat owners will be all too familiar with).

Perhaps what I love most about the Ultenic U11, is that it comes with three additional attachments which make getting into corners and crevices a breeze – something my former cordless vacuum wasn’t capable of. The crevice tool – as the name suggests – is particularly handy for sucking up tiny loose hairs in the bathroom after my partner post-shave routine – which always seem to find their way into every nook and cranny.

My cat also loves spending lazy afternoons grooming himself underneath my bed, so having a cordless vacuum that can easily manoeuvre under furniture and access hard-to-reach spots has been a godsend. Even at night time, I was able to capture hidden fluff in dark corners thanks the rotatable brush head and it's LED light.

Would you choose this product above all others on the market?

The U11 is definitely a step up from the previous cordless vacuum I owned. However, I suspect there are more powerful, robust and quieter models on the market that might be worth paying that bit extra for (if you can afford to). I often had to turn on the maximum suction mode for it to pick up traces of my cat’s fur – which quickly reduces the 55-minute run-time that it boasts on eco mode.

That being said, factoring in its affordability – and Amazon Prime’s next day delivery – this vacuum is certainly a convenient option that doesn’t break the bank and will get the job done.

What changes would you make to this product?

Despite being an easy vacuum to use, its design falls a little short when it comes to the maintenance side of things. Having anti-hair wrap technology would give it an edge, as it didn’t take long for stray strands of hair to begin attaching themselves to the bristles of the roller.

The process of emptying the dust bin could also be simplified, as the filtering mechanism has several components that required me to click, twist and slot them back together again in a very methodical way. I found myself having to reread the instructions a few times and practice the reassembly before I fully understood what I was doing.

Although the build quality is significantly better than my former cordless vacuum, I still feel sceptical as to how much longevity the U11 has. At first, I was really excited by the idea of having an actual floor-mounted charging stand. But once it was erected, I found it wasn't as sturdy as I had hoped. That being said, I do love being able to slot the vacuum into place and have it receive instant charging. I loathed having to to remove, charge and replace the battery in my old cordless vacuum – which I would often forget to do – so this element of the U11's design definitely makes life easier!

Would you recommend this product?

Yes, I would – for small households and those without multiple pets. This cordless vacuum is fine for single people and couples with one small animal. But I feel it would struggle with cleaning up large amounts of mess on a regular basis.
