Launched in 2022, the new Hoover Cordless Pet Vacuum Cleaner with Anti-Twist is one of the many cordless vacuums taking the market by storm. The model has an anti-twist feature to stop hair wrapping around the roller, a mini power nozzle to help lift out stubborn pet hair, a fast-charging battery and 2 in 1 crevice tools. We all lead such busy lifestyles nowadays and anything that helps with time-consuming tasks is always welcome. Here's how tester Lindsey Gilbert got on when she put the Hoover Cordless Pet Vacuum Cleaner with Anti-Twist to the test.

Hoover Cordless Pet Vacuum Cleaner with Anti-Twist overview

Pros

• Adequate battery run time in standard mode

• Two levels of suction power standard or turbo

• Lightweight to use

• Easy to manoeuvre/good turning circle

• LED light function on both power heads

Cons

• Battery length is quite short when used in turbo mode

Testing the Hoover Cordless Pet Vacuum Cleaner with Anti-Twist

Not having ever owned a cordless vacuum before we were curious to see how it compared to the traditional upright corded vacuum.  We were interested to see how well it fitted together and if the interchangeable tools were quick and easy to switch over. We wanted to find out if it held the charge long enough to clean the house without having to recharge it and also if it was powerful enough to give good cleaning results.

Tests of the Hoover took place in the home over a period of two weeks - using all the functions and accessories. The different speed modes were used and also the turbo function. The Hoover was taken from carpet to hard floor areas to see how it adjusted on different surfaces. It was used in each room and included use on the upper and more hard-to-reach areas, making the removal of cobwebs easy!

When we unpacked the Hoover from its box it fitted together really easily and instructions were included. The instruction leaflet has several pages of diagrams showing each function in a step-by-step guide. At first glance, this seemed a little confusing but if you break it down one page at a time it really is quite straightforward.

Battery

The battery takes 3.5 hours to charge and can be independently charged away from the hoover. Therefore there is no need to have the hoover stored next to a power point. Once charged you have 30 minutes on standard use or 12 minutes if you continually use the turbo function.

LED screen

There is a small screen which clearly shows how much charge is left in minutes and when the hoover is fully charged. The screen adjusts the time left when the mode or turbo functions are switched on.

Carpet to hard floor

There is a mode to change the speed of the roller if needed. This can be speeded up whilst using on carpets or slowing down on hard floors. The hoover can go smoothly from room to room without the need to change a setting if going from carpet to hard floor or vice versa, allowing a smooth transition. If the mode for speeding up the roller is used this slightly reduces the length of the battery life.

LED lights

We found this a great feature as the light shows up hidden dust and dirt whilst hoovering. The light function is on both the main and the mini power head. It’s amazing what the light discovers and shows up even when you think the floor is clean!

Final thoughts

Overall we were really happy with the Hoover Cordless Pet Vacuum cleaner HF9. It was easy to use and lightweight making cleaning duties effortless. The cleaning power was effective and gave good results. We particularly liked how the interchangeable parts fit so easily together in comparison to previous vacuum cleaners owned. Also, the light function is a useful addition in highlighting pet hairs and dust in need of cleaning. It currently appears to be at the higher end of the price range when compared to other brands of a similar design.

The Hoover Cordless Pet Vacuum Cleaner with Anti-Twist retails at around £349.99 and although not the cheapest on the market, we would recommend this particular product as it lived up to expectations in every aspect, cutting down the vacuuming time by about half of that needed when using a corded upright vacuum. It is most definitely a good addition to add to our household cleaning range.
