The future is now, and technological advancements are increasingly making our lives easier each year. A robot vacuum can take home cleaning to the next level, saving us time and effort that can be better spent elsewhere.
The Eufy RoboVac G20 is Anker Technology’s latest 2022 release, but can the robot vacuum cleaner really live up to your cleanliness standards? We put it to the test to discover its effectiveness, reliability and value.
In this review of the G20, you can find the pros and cons, key features, what tests were performed, how they were performed and the results. We also see how the G20 weighs up against earlier models such as the G10 and G30 hybrids.

Key Features
2500pa Suction Power
The G20 boasts an impressive suction power of 2500pa, which is 25% higher than earlier models, including the G30 and G10. However, the G20 is beat by the X8 model which boasts a twin-turbine system with both turbines having 2000pa suction power, which is reflected in the price.
Despite this, the G20 has 4 suction power options including a 'BoostIQ' mode, all accessible from the eufy app:
• Quiet
• Standard
• Turbo
• Max
Low Noise
Does more suction mean more noise?
Absolutely not. The G20 is incredibly quiet at 55dB, a volume equivalent to a household refrigerator. This means that it can go about its business seamlessly without causing any noticeable or distracting noise. This makes it perfect for home working and office environments, as well as for pets.
Smartphone App
All Eufy Smart Home products can be controlled from any place at any time with an easy-to-use smartphone application.
For the G20 RoboVac, the app allows you to:
Find out if any parts need replacing
Find its location
Schedule Cleans
Select Suction Power
Stop Cleaning
Whilst it’s convenient to control the G20 remotely, it’s strongly advised that there is supervision when cleaning is taking place around pets.
Smarter Dynamic Navigation (Gyroscope Navigation)
Some earlier models use different technology that only allow for random cleaning pathways which aren’t as effective. However, with Gyro Navigation you can be assured you’re getting the most efficient cleaning pathways.
Made up of 13 sensors, Smarter Dynamic Navigation enables highly efficient and calculated cleaning pathways to maximise coverage, whilst avoiding drops, collisions and traps. Sensors also allow the RoboVac to return to its original location or charging port once cleaning has finished.
If the battery gets low during a clean, the RoboVac will return to the charging station and resume cleaning once fully charged.
However, the G20 model doesn’t use Laser SLAM mapping which would allow for automatic multi-room cleaning and obstacle detection. This technology can be found in higher-spec models such as the X8 Hybrid, which comes at a much higher price accordingly.
Aesthetic and Practical Design
Anker’s Eufy G20 RoboVac has a slick and robust design. The exterior of the product is mostly made from plastic, but has a smooth glass surface on the top which makes the product look and feel high quality.
Standing only 2.85 inches tall, the G20 RoboVac can reach hidden messes in hard-to-reach areas such as under your sofa.
The G20 weighs approximately 2.9kg, which makes it easy to pick up and maneuver whilst maintaining its sturdiness.
RoboVac's design is slightly let down by its shape. This is because a circular design makes it harder for the RoboVac to reach tight corners of the room. However, the G20 does have a rotating brush underneath that allows it to tease dust in tight corners more effectively.

Eufy RoboVac G20 Test
What features were tested?
I put the RoboVac G20 under a series of tests to determine whether it can live up to my cleaning standards.
I tested the following:
Pickup power
Room coverage
Battery life
Carpet vs hard floor
Response to obstacles
How were the tests carried out?
Tests of the RoboVac were carried out over the course of a week in a natural home environment and setting. I scheduled cleans each day and observed the performance each time.
What were the results?
Pickup Power
I tested what the G20 could and couldn’t pick up and was pleasantly surprised. Utilising its additional and dynamic suction power, the RoboVac can handle most common messes we find in our houses. It had no problem picking up clumps of dog hair, crumbs and small bits of food like rice and chopped veg, gravel and dried mud. The G20 has a power similar to a high-end handheld vacuum cleaner.
Room Coverage
I was very impressed with the coverage of the G20 RoboVac. It could navigate the entire downstairs with no issues and thoroughly vacuumed each room and floor type that I tested. There were a few small corners of the kitchen that the RoboVac didn’t get to like behind the door, however this was expected as it's a very tight space that the G20 couldn't fit.
Battery Life
The RoboVac could handle approximately 50-60 minutes of vacuuming on the turbo suction power setting before announcing it was low on battery and returning to its charging station. On the standard setting on hard floors such as laminate, it could handle around 100 minutes of vacuuming.
Carpet vs Hard Floor
Utilising its BoostIQ technology, the G20 had no issue whatsoever with vacuuming carpets as well as hard floors. It could still pick up the same items such as pet hair, small bits of food and gravel on both carpets and hard floors.
Response to obstacles
Having dogs in my house means there’s constantly toys lying around, pillows fallen from the couch onto the floor and (obviously) animals in the way of the RoboVac. Although the G20 doesn’t use LiDAR or Laser SLAM mapping to allow for obstacle detection, it responded to obstacles very effectively after bumping into the obstacle by finding an alternative route around.
Comparison vs previous models
Final thoughts on the Eufy RoboVac G20...
Overall, the G20 RoboVac is a high quality, reliable and user-friendly option if you’re looking to invest in a robot vacuum cleaner for the first time. At a mid-range price, you’re getting good value for money in comparison to other entry level products. It lived up to my expectations and kept my floors looking clean and tidy with minimal effort. In fact, I typically spend around 90 minutes vacuuming per week and since having the G20 it’s reduced to less than 40 minutes which has really impressed me.
Despite the RoboVac living up to my expectations, I would still recommend investing an extra £60 to get the mopping feature that the G20 Hybrid provides. This would help to get a pristine finish on your hard wooden floors. Having dogs in my house meant that there would still be marks on my floors even after vacuuming, so the G20 Hybrid would solve this issue.
I also found the G20 particularly useful in the kitchen when I was chopping up veg and some would fall on to the floor which occurs very often for me. I scheduled cleans for after I finished eating dinner and it saved me having to vacuum or sweep up after cooking. The cleaning time the G20 saved me is what gave this product its value and now I wouldn't look back.
A robot vacuum cleaner is a fantastic investment if you have pets or children and require daily upkeep to keep your floors looking clean, and the G20 proves to be a reliable and reasonably priced solution. It's also great to those who can't find the time or energy to hoover regularly, those cleaning schedules really help your floors looking clean in between manual vacuum cleaning.
