Black Friday is a bonanza of savings and special offers on practically anything you can think of. True to say, the Black Friday deals are not limited to the final Friday of November anymore. Our shopping experts (myself included) have been following the deals since the start of the month. We had our eye on Lakeland's Dry Deluxe 3-Tier Heated Clothes Airer and we've just noticed a price drop. So, if you're in the market for a Black Friday heated clothes airer deal that's a genuinely great offer, we recommend you snap up the offer now rather than wait.

Retailers have slightly changed their strategy this Black Friday. Lakeland, for example announced this as their biggest ever Black Friday sale and there have been offers throughout the month. Elsewhere, we've seen 70% off and further reductions all November. Stock has sold out and not necessarily returned on offer. So, if you see a great deal and it's an item that's been on your wish list for while, why wait?

This is too good an offer not to shout about – here's our tried-and-tested verdict on Lakeland's Dry Deluxe 3-Tier Heated Clothes Airer.

Getting clothes dry during winter is more of a chore than usual. Plus, running a tumble dryer gets expensive. I for one had resorted to using a dehumidifier on laundry mode practically all day long. My airer broke; the leg snapped because I'd overloaded it. My repair job of sticky tape and wire didn't do the trick, so I was in the market for an airer with a strong frame that could hold all the laundry a busy household accumulates.

I've been really impressed with how effective it has been drying our clothing and the fact that the running cost is so low in comparison to our dryer.

When fully extended this airer will take up a fair amount of space, so you’ll need a medium sized room to use it in. However, when folded down it fits nicely inside cupboards or can even be hung on the back of a door. It’s super lightweight so really easy to move around the house.

What I love the most is that when it’s on it heats up the entire room and leaves it smelling of freshly washed clothes. If I’m working from home I’ll often bring it into my office and turn off the heating as it keeps the room nice and toasty. The description says it holds approx. two average loads of washing but I’ve only ever found it to hold one.

The timer is a really useful feature as it's very easy to forget to turn the airer off and leave it on longer than necessary, so it gives me real peace of mind that I don't have one more thing to remember to do. The airer folds together really compactly, with clips to hold it in place so I can neatly store it away once I've finished using it.

What is Black Friday?

This huge event originated in America, with tech and electronic goods such as smart TVs going on sale right after Thanksgiving to entice customers to begin their Christmas shopping. Now that it’s moved over to the UK, you’ll find massive discounts on everything, not just tech, and it's now the biggest event of the year for retailers.

Is it worth waiting until Black Friday?

While Black Friday officially falls on 29th November 2024, several retailers such as Lakeland, John Lewis and Dunelm put up lots of deals and discounts weeks ago. So, the smart thing would be to start browsing for products you’ve been meaning to buy so you can take your time to search and grab the best offer out there.

Is Black Friday or Cyber Monday better for deals?

While Black Friday is the biggest sale event for most brands and retailers, a big chunk of those discounts stay live well until Cyber Monday. There would be brand new discounts and deals offered for Cyber Monday specifically as well, so it would be worth keeping an eye on our deal pages are we would be updating them with the latest deals on products that you would love.

When do Black Friday sales end?

In recent years, we've seen Black Friday sales start several days (or even weeks) before the actual Black Friday, 29th November. They typically continue through the weekend into Cyber Monday. Many retailers keep their discounts available until the end of Cyber Monday, which falls on Monday, December 2nd. Some retailers may continue their sales for the week after Black Friday, also known as Cyber Week.
