Getting clothes dry during winter is more of a chore than usual. Plus, running a tumble dryer gets expensive. I for one had resorted to using a dehumidifier on laundry mode practically all day long. My airer broke; the leg snapped because I'd overloaded it. My repair job of sticky tape and wire didn't do the trick, so I was in the market for an airer with a strong frame that could hold all the laundry a busy household accumulates.
I've been really impressed with how effective it has been drying our clothing and the fact that the running cost is so low in comparison to our dryer.
When fully extended this airer will take up a fair amount of space, so you’ll need a medium sized room to use it in. However, when folded down it fits nicely inside cupboards or can even be hung on the back of a door. It’s super lightweight so really easy to move around the house.
What I love the most is that when it’s on it heats up the entire room and leaves it smelling of freshly washed clothes. If I’m working from home I’ll often bring it into my office and turn off the heating as it keeps the room nice and toasty. The description says it holds approx. two average loads of washing but I’ve only ever found it to hold one.
The timer is a really useful feature as it's very easy to forget to turn the airer off and leave it on longer than necessary, so it gives me real peace of mind that I don't have one more thing to remember to do. The airer folds together really compactly, with clips to hold it in place so I can neatly store it away once I've finished using it.
