Or, consider our favourite: the Pact Coffee Advent Calendar. It features 25 specialty coffees, hand-picked by experts from eight different countries. And, of course, you can find out the coffee's story - whether bright, light, fruit, dark, rich or velvety...
Natalie calls it... a must for any coffee lover, the Pact Advent Calendar contains 25 unique, ethical, and sustainably produced coffees from smallholder farmers. The coffees are expertly roasted, ground and sealed in 18g sachets to retain their freshness. Upon opening the sachet, the coffee has a wonderful aroma. Explore a range of coffees, including limited-edition blends, available for both Original and Vertuo coffee machines. Natalie was lucky enough to try Nespresso's festive Vertuo calendar last year.
Natalie tested last year's offering and loved it... Nespresso's 2023 coffee advent calendar was a luxurious red cube printed in gold. The lid expands as you open it and inside there's another cube. Very clever paper engineering, with a handle of sorts on the underside to ensure the inner box comes out smoothly. There were 17 capsules of high-quality roast and ground coffee. Gorgeous...
Also, five capsules are special flavours, including Barista Creations Sweet Vanilla, Roasted Hazelnut, Rich Chocolate and a Seasonal Delight Spices Flavour. In addition, two capsules contain a decaffeinated blend, plus a gift to open behind the larger 24th door. Natalie opened one door and the bauble-like Vertuo capsule popped out with ease.
This is a wonderful gift for owners of Vertuo coffee machines, says Natalie. She couldn't wait to savour this coffee-tasting journey and get a surprise behind the 24th door. We hope you try the 2024 one.
Pros
- Perfect for lovers of Nespresso coffee
- Delicious variety of luxurious coffee flavours
- Beautifully designed box - paper-engineering!
Cons
- Requires a Nespresso Vertuo machine

Coffee Advent Calendar FAQs
What are the different coffee brewing methods?
There are many ways to brew coffee. Our pick of the best coffee advent calendars accommodates a wide variety - from whole beans to instant to ground (think: moka pot, Aeropress, French press). Don't forget to grind coffee beans according to your machine or press. For example, espresso grounds should be fine.
Drip Coffee (Filter) - is when hot water passes through a paper filter. The taste of filter coffee is clean, light and well-balanced. Filter coffee is made with a drip coffee maker or pour-over devices.
French press (Cafetiere) - comes out rich and full-bodied (due to longer extraction). Coffee grounds will just steep in hot water for a few minutes and the plunger separates the grounds from the liquid.
Espresso - brews using an espresso machine. Water is, essentially, forced through finely ground coffee at high pressure for that sought-after concentrated shot of coffee. Strong, intense and flavourful.
Moka pot (Stovetop espresso) - helps steam pressure push water through coffee grounds, brewing a strong, espress-esque coffee. The result is bold and intense. It's Piper's favourite coffee variety.
Cold brew - offers a smooth, mellow and less acidic taste. Whether a cold brew pitcher, jar or Breville's Iced Coffee Machine, your favourite coffee is sometimes steeped, usually filtered for the best cold brew.
Looking for the right appliance? Or sister site, A Modern Kitchen, maybe be able to help you find the best coffee machine for your household, lifestyle and busy schedule - and how you like your coffee.
Are coffee advent calendars a good gift?
Yes - they are a great gift for foodies, coffee lovers or anyone who enjoys something unusual. Not satisified with chocolate? A coffee advent could help you start your day right... How exciting.
