One really good feature worth pointing out is that the battery lasts up to 2 weeks, so if you go on holiday and forget your charger it doesn't matter. In fact, I've just taken my Oral-B brush abroad for a week, been home for 4 days and it still doesn't need charging.

My only gripe with Oral-B brushes is that they still only come with a 2-point pin plug (or a shaving plug as we know it). I'd love to see a USB cord or just a regular plug but honestly, with such a great brush at such a good price, I'll put up with it!

It's September and it's now dark when my alarm goes off at 5.30am. That's sure to put me in a bad mood and make it harder for me to wake up, but this sunrise alarm clock has saved me.

I first got one a couple of years ago as I need to be up early and I hate it when it's pitch black. The gentle sunlight starts 30 mins before my alarm and by the time I wake the room is flooded with a warm glow which is pretty close to natural sunlight. I don't use the sound option on mine, but some have said it's not great.

You can also have a 'sunset' option, and it'll gradually dim over 30 mins before bed, or you can choose one of the other colours to cast a glow around the room.

I bought this BP monitor from Amazon because it had so many good reviews. It is simple to set up, and I like that it can store readings—this has been handy for monitoring my high BP when I’ve needed to keep records for the GP. You can also store info for more than one person on it, though I’ve not needed to.

The display is clear and easy to read, and using the memory button, you can easily see previous readings and the average of your last three readings.

The cuff is large and the Velcro is very strong. This might not be an issue but some people might find it difficult to undo. It does inflate very tightly.

At just £14.99 I think this is superb value for money for something that can offer real peace-of-mind.
