How to claim a free National Trust pass

Where can I use my National Trust Free Pass?

There are over 500 National Trust places in total and you can use the single-use Escape into Autumn 2024 National Trust day pass in over 200 of them. The website has a list of places which are exempt from free admission across the UK.

From days out by the sea to rural locations and popular tourist areas, there are plenty of beautiful properties, castles and gardens to visit, including: Attingham Park, Belton House, Cliveden House and Dunham Massey, which are some of the most visited locations.

Around 25.3 million people visited National Trust properties between 2023 and 2024, with a 12 per cent year-on-year rise in non-member attendance.

Speaking about the free National Trust pass, Hilary McGrady, director general of the National Trust, commented: “It’s really heartening that people still want to spend time in and support amazing cultural and natural places, whether that’s immersing themselves in art or wandering through our gardens and woodlands. We know the cost-of-living crisis is still biting, and we’ll keep doing more to give everyone a great day out.”
