There are a huge range of at-home teeth whitening products on the market but perhaps one of the most popular is hismile.

Over time, it’s normal for our teeth to discolour. Things such as brightly coloured food, dark drinks, smoking and medication can stain and change the colour of our teeth. If you’ve noticed your teeth aren’t as white as they once were, you might be thinking about whitening your teeth.

While it’s always advised to visit your dentist for some professional teeth whitening treatment to remove teeth stains, there are many at-home teeth whitening kits available to buy. These products provide excellent results from the comfort of your own home at an affordable price.

hismile does a huge range of different products to achieve the white smile you’re looking for. We’ve reviewed three of its most popular products, the HiSmile PAP+ Whitening Strips, HA5 Hyaluronic Mouthwash and V34 Corrector Serum to find out if they really worked.

Testing the hismile PAP+ Whitening Strips

The teeth whitening strips are a best seller for HiSmile, providing fast and noticeable results after just one treatment. Each pack includes 14 strips and is designed not to irritate gums.

To use, simply stick the strips to your upper and lower teeth and leave for 30 minutes to allow the active ingredients of the PAP+ formula into the tooth’s structure to provide fast whitening, desensitising, and remineralising benefits.

These teeth whitening strips are extremely adhesive on the teeth compared to other teeth whitening strips on the market. There’s no risk of them slipping off or becoming unstuck from the teeth. I really liked this feature as it meant I could have a conversation and get on with my day as normal without producing excessive saliva or being worried that the strips would fall out.

When it comes to removing the strips, it does take a bit of work and it takes some pulling to peel them off the teeth. After, a residue will be left on the teeth which just needs brushing and rinsing like you would when brushing your teeth.

The results were instant, making them ideal for special occasions such as a wedding where smiling for photos would be essential.

Testing the hismile HA5 Hyaluronic Mouthwash

Mouthwash is an essential step of your teeth cleaning routine. It leaves your mouth feeling fresh and revitalised while improving overall oral hygiene.

Hyaluronic acid is an ingredient you might find in your favourite skincare products, but it’s not something linked with oral care. In fact, hyaluronic acid is naturally found in our body and is responsible for retaining moisture which is essential for maintaining healthy teeth.

hismile HA5 Hyaluronic Mouthwash review

When this mouthwash says refreshing, it means it. While my mouth felt super fresh after using, it did make my tongue feel rather numb for a short while afterwards. It really does give a burning sensation (not painful) so if a strong mouthwash isn’t for you, I wouldn’t recommend it. For me, I quite liked the results, especially after eating food with onions or garlic as it gave a refreshing feel that you can’t really achieve with brushing alone.

Testing the V34 Corrector Serum

We’ve all heard of purple shampoo to stop your blonde or grey hair from going yellow or brassy, but what about using this technology on your teeth? HiSmiles V34 Corrector Serum works to counter-balance the different hues in your teeth to make them appear brighter.

This serum can be used daily but it is designed to be used after a whitening treatment. Simply put two pumps on your toothbrush and clean. Remember, this is only designed to work on natural teeth, not veneers, caps, implants, bridges, or bonded teeth.

hismile V34 Colour Corrector Serum review

The results of this serum weren’t as instant as the strips, but if you’re looking for a good whitening toothpaste, this colour correcting solution is a brilliant option. It does take a bit of work to wash all the purple tones from your teeth but the brightening effect makes it worth it. I saw a real brightening effect after 3-4 uses.

hismile FAQs

Can hismile be used with veneers, caps, implants, bridges, or bonded teeth?

The PAP+whitening formula is designed to oxidise stains from natural teeth, so you may find this doesn't work for caps, bridges and others which require more special care.

How does the PAP+ formula whiten?

Each of hismile's products uses the PAP+ formula which oxidises tooth stains without releasing free radicals, making them great for whitening teeth without causing damage or sensitivity. Phthalimidoperoxycaproicacid (or PAP for short) is a form of chemical bleaching that works on both superficial and embedded stains.
