Whether you’re trying your first solo holiday or taking the whole family abroad, Wyndham is a safe and relaxing haven for your next trip away. Wyndham Residencies, located on the Costa Del Sol, provides a sunny escape from the busier resorts of the popular Spanish coast.
Where is Wyndham, Costa Del Sol?
The Costa Del Sol is a very popular holiday destination for Brits during the summer months, and for good reason. You can rely on the weather as it’s home to an average of 300-plus days of annual sunshine meaning you can pack your suitcase lightly, the area is also steeped in history and there is plenty to do for the whole family, from relaxing to exploring. Just be sure to pack your suncream to stay safe in the sun.
The resort is located just a 30 minute drive away from the historic city of Malaga as well as picturesque hikes. You’re also located close to the beach and the holiday town of Marbella and Puerto Banus.
Wyndham is very easy to get to, and is a 30 minute drive away from Malaga airport. There are regular affordable flights from most UK airports to Malaga, and the flight is just over two hours, making it a relatively stress free journey. When it comes to getting from the airport to the resort, you have a number of easy options. You can either book a private taxi transfer through the hotel or hire your own car. Car parking at the resort is free and some accommodations offer an enclosed garage space. We’d definitely recommend hiring a car if you hope to drive further afield and see more of the area.
Where will I sleep?
There are plenty of accommodation options to choose from at Wyndham depending on your budget and how many people you’re holidaying with. You have the choice of suits, one, two or three bedroom apartments (which sleep up to eight people) as well as luxurious deluxe apartments. All the accommodation has a kitchen so you can make and prepare your own food from the comfort of your own accomodation.
As well as having a kitchen, each room type comes with Wifi, a safe, bathrooms, linen and towels, TV and access to 24 hour reception. As well as that, most of the rooms have been recently modernised, which makes for a very comfortable stay.
The luxurious King Sized bed was extremely comfortable with plenty of pillows and a very good air conditioning system to keep me cool throughout the night.
What is there to do at Wyndham?
As well as there being plenty of activities to do at Wyndham, there is also lots to see and do further afield too. From taking a boat trip from Marbella to Puerto Banus to visiting the spectacular Caminito Del Rey or the historical city of Malaga, there’s so much to see around the resort.
If you’re keen to stay within the resort, there is plenty to get up to if you like keeping active with a range of different sports and fitness activities going on throughout the day. For younger guests, there are two kids clubs on site. There’s supervised fun and activities for children aged 4-11 while older kids and teenagers have the chance to explore with some added freedom while staying safe.
What is there to eat?
There are a huge range of places to dine in the resort. From intimate, romantic meals with some cocktails to fun dining options suitable for the whole family, there really is something to suit everyone for both lunch and dinner.
We particularly loved Mediterraneo and Safari for evening meals. Here, you have the option of dining al fresco (weather permitting) and there is also some brilliant entertainment on offer while you eat, with live singers and a piano player.
You also have the option of dining in your accommodation, using the kitchenette provided. This is a really nice option if you just want a quiet night in. There is an on-site supermarket and bakery where you can buy all your food supplies for cooking.
Guests have a lot of flexibility when it comes to the dining options. You can opt for bed and breakfast to enjoy an extensive continental buffet, including freshly baked pastries, cereal, breads, cold meats and cheeses and fruit platters, plus freshly cooked options made to order. Guests who select Half Board can also enjoy three courses in the evening with both meals being served at the Safari Restaurant.
Final thoughts
You get a real sense of community at Wyndham, and it’s easy to see why guests choose to return year after year. Looking around at evening diners or by the pool in the day, there are plenty of friends meeting up or kids playing with one another from different families.
Speaking to the manager of Wyndham, he explains there is a large majority of guests who meet friends at Wyndham and return year after year to see them. This makes it great for solo travel or trips with friends if you’re looking to holiday in later life. It’s also a great place for multi-generational families who are in search of a holiday destination where there’s plenty to do for an affordable price with the security of being in a resort.
