This year marks 70 years since Elizabeth II became the Queen of England. She ascended to the throne in 1952 and has been Britain's longest-reigning monarch since 2015, surpassing her great-great-grandmother Queen Victoria. There's not long to go now until Jubilee weekend when we will mark the 70th anniversary of Her Majesty's accession to the throne.

If you're wondering what to do to mark the occasion, why don't you host a garden party? There will be nothing better than having a right royal knees up with friends and family. You can go all out on the decorations, put on a spread of delectable treats, and enjoy some friendly competition with a selection of garden games.

If this sounds like your idea of fun, but you're not sure where to start with getting all the Jubilee themed items you need, we're here to help with our Platinum Jubilee garden party ideas so you can throw a celebration fit for a Queen!

We love the print on this paper table cover - there are crowns, horses, lions and Union Jack flags. When you're finished with it, you can pop it into your recycling as it's totally recyclable.

Is there anything more British than a Victoria sponge? This cake will be the ideal treat to enjoy at your Platinum Jubilee garden party, with its edible union jack topper.

This game is guaranteed fun over the Jubilee bank holiday weekend. It's just like traditional bingo, except the numbers have been replaced with royal related items, such as a crown, throne, and of course, a corgi.

Will the Platinum Jubilee be a bank holiday?

Yes, the Platinum Jubilee will be a bank holiday. The official jubilee bank holiday is 2 June 2022, which falls on a Thursday. We also have an additional bank holiday to enjoy the next day on Friday 3 June, as the late Spring bank holiday that usually falls on the last Monday of May has been moved. The Platinum Jubilee Central Weekend, as it's been officially called, will give people a four day weekend to enjoy.
