We love filling our homes with seasonal autumn crafts and decorations at this time of year. From autumn wreaths to leaf art, there's something so beautiful about autumn and the colours it brings. Autumn decorations really creates a cosy and warming environment, perfect for a quiet night in.

Bring some autumn glow into your home with these little autumn leaf candles. All you need is a jar, some leaves, a paint brush and glue (we'd recommend PVA) plus some string to make these autumnal candle holders. Not only do they make a room feel cosy and warm, they also give you an excellent excuse to get outside for some autumnal leaf collecting.

This little felt toadstool garland can be made from some autumnal coloured felts, string, stuffing and cotton for sealing the toadstools. They look great hung up around window frames or door frames and they also make lovely little homemade gifts for children or for baby's nursery. Not only does this seasonal leaf mobile look really autumnal, it also smells perfectly seasonal too, and smells are very important when it comes to autumn crafts! Use wooden beads which you can purchase online, leaves from the garden, cinnamon sticks, dried oranges plus twigs and string to create this decoration before hanging it up in a window or up against the wall.

You can purchase modelling clay from most craft supply shops or online, and it's great fun to work with and takes you right back to school days. Then all you need are some well-shaped, undamaged leafs in an assortment of shapes and some autumnal coloured paints to create this little leaf trinket tray.

Yarn pumpkins

Simple yet stunning, these pumpkins are made from foam pumpkins wrapped in different coloured yarn with a small branch stuck in the top. Placed around the home, on window sills and shelves, they make for a real cosy and autumnal feel.

Simply buy some felt in a range of autumnal colours, some thread in suitable colours, some stuffing for the cushion effect and scissors to cut your shapes. You may even want to use some stencils for the shapes to get them perfect.

If you're looking for a way to use up any broken leaves that don't quite make the cut your your other projects, then this fun DIY leaf art is a great idea. Simply print out a picture of a bare tree from the internet (or draw one yourself) and use PVA glue to stick dry leaves to the branches. You can't do autumnal crafts without some autumn leaves, and while a lot of us might be blessed to find beautifully shaped and coloured leaves on our doorstep, it's sometimes easier to use artificial leaves when crafting.

Another foodie item that you might not want to use real versions of. These dried oranges are brilliant for making wreaths, garlands and mobiles, and will also work really nicely for winter decorations too.

Whether you're knitting a cosy scarf or warm blanket, we think they look far more beautiful in an autumn shade at this time of year. There are so many lovely options, from deep oranges to warming browns.

This string is so versatile. It can be used to wrap around candles, to make bows with, to tie up gifts or even on greetings cards.
