You'll no doubt recognise Susan Calman as she's been a regular on our screens for quite some years. The Scottish stand-up comedian and presenter has appeared on numerous BBC Radio 4 shows, including The News Quiz and I’m Sorry I Haven’t Got a Clue and has even hosted her own TV shows, including her programme on Channel 5, Susan Calman’s Grand Week by the Sea.

Susan was born on 6 November 1974, currently making her 48 years old.

Does Susan Calman have a wife?

Susan is married to fellow lawyer, Lee Cormack. The couple became civil partners in 2012 and married in 2015.

Speaking about her marriage she said: “Being married does make a difference. I don’t like it when people say it’s just a bit of paper. Not to me, it isn’t. And anyway, it’s something gay people fought for over many years.”

Was she a lawyer?

She was! Before her comic life, Susan was a successful corporate lawyer and even worked on Death Row in America and the United Nations in Geneva.

However, dissatisfied with her career, she decided to pursue comedy at the age of 30 and reached the semi-finals of the BBC New Comedy Awards and became a finalist in the ‘Funny Women’ competition.

Susan went on to appear on a number of BBC Radio 4 shows from The News Quiz to The Unbelievable Truth and So Wrong it’s Right, as well as presenting on Woman’s Hour and hosting her own award-winning radio series, Susan Calman is Convicted.

She’s taken part as a panellist on TV shows from 8 Out of 10 Cats, to Mock of The Week and even had a cameo in Fresh Meat, back in 2013.

In 2017 she decided to take to the dance floor on BBC’s Strictly Come Dancingand more recently has been presenting her latest programme Cruising with Susan Calman.

The series sees her travel across the globe on some of the world's finest cruise ships getting up to all sorts of fun activities and seeing all the famous sites from the seas.
