Prince William hopes to end homelessness in the UK, and his work can be seen in the upcoming exclusive documentary titled Prince William: We Can End Homelessness on ITV. The show follows the launch and first 12 months of Homewards, a programme that works with The Royal Foundation to demonstrate that homelessness can be ended in the UK.
They plan to end rough sleeping, sofa surfing and temporary housing for good and put a roof over everyone's head.
William's passion for making a difference came when Diana, Princess of Wales, took him to a homeless charity as a schoolboy. He told reporters that he could never forget the sadness he felt seeing people without a home.
"I've slowly tried to work out what I can bring to the role and platform that I have. I've taken some inspiration and guidance from what my mother did, particularly with homelessness. I don't believe we should be living with homelessness in the 21st century.", the future King says in an exclusive clip from the documentary.

What is Homewards?
In June 2023, Homewards shared a video of Prince William announcing the foundation, which is working with 6 locations in the UK to try and end all forms of homelessness, as Finland has proved possible.
"Today, we are incredibly proud to unveil #Homewards - a UK-wide programme to end homelessness, launched alongside The Royal Foundation @HomewardsUK. We believe that by working together, it is possible to make homelessness rare, brief and unrepeated. Because whatever ‘home’ means to you, we believe that in a modern and progressive society, everyone should have a safe and secure home to call their own." says the charity.
The six flagship locations they are working with are:
• Aberdeen
• Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole
• Lambert
• Newport
• Northern Ireland
• Sheffield
