It's official: There will be a Peaky Blinders film! Following a similar pattern to TV drama Luther (which was initially a long-running BBC series), the film will be streaming on Netflix. Netflix have shared the news, along with a photo of a script. So, it's time to dust off those flat caps and tweed and find out more about the upcoming movie.

Is Cillian Murphy going to be in the Peaky Blinders movie?

The Netflix announcement confirmed that Cillian Murphy will be in the movie, with him saying, "It seems like Tommy Shelby wasn't finished with me... It is very gratifying to be re-collaborating with Steven Knight and Tom Harper on the film version of Peaky Blinders. This is one for the fans."

The last time last time we saw Tommy, he was riding off on a horse, ready to start a new life, so we wonder will what be in store for him next.

Whatever is going to happen in the film, we know it's going to be explosive! Writer Steven Knight said, "I’m genuinely thrilled that this movie is about to happen. It will be an explosive chapter in the Peaky Blinders story. No holds barred. Full on Peaky Blinders at war.”

So far, little has been confirmed about the Peaky Blinders film, but we do know that that Tommy Shelby will be returning. Hopefully, more fan favourites will also be making an appearance.

When will the Peaky Blinders film be released?

It's still early days, as the script is still in development. In an interview with Radio Times, Knight said: "The plan is to start shooting that in the middle of next year. I’m just working on the final bits of it at the moment."
