Forget the sandy blondes, chestnut browns and fiery redheads; when it comes to man crushes there’s something bewitching about those silver foxes. Luckily for us, there's plenty to choose from - everywhere we turn celebrities are embracing the grey and ditching the dye.

Here are a few of our favourites whose grey locks have given them an extra charm.

Richard Gere

In his early years he set many of our pulses racing in films such as Pretty Woman and An Officer and a Gentleman. Then of course Richard Gere was tall, dark and handsome – today at 71 the Hollywood heartthrob is tall, silver-haired and handsome!

Over the years the softly spoken star has been linked with some of the world's most glamorous women, including former supermodel Cindy Crawford, to whom he was married for four years.

George Clooney

By George he’s still got the wow factor! Actor George Clooney was a popular leading man in the 1990s, and is now a respected director and screenwriter. He earned his big break when he was cast as Dr. Doug Ross on the drama ER and since then has appeared in a long list of movies in a huge range of roles. In recognition of his multifaceted career, he received the Cecil B. DeMille Award (a Golden Globe for lifetime achievement) in 2015.

Mark set eight world records as a freestyle and butterfly sprinter and won six world titles, 11 European championship gold medals, two Commonwealth golds and competed in five Olympic Games – even carrying the GB flag at the opening ceremony in Beijing in 2008.

Since retiring from professional sport, Mark has become a familiar face on television, including hitting the dance floor in 'Strictly Come Dancing' on BBC1.

He's also had a mix of lead and supporting roles in films such as Prometheus and Beasts of No Nation. In addition to his on screen career he's enjoyed a successful music career as a DJ, rapper and producer.

Daniel Craig

Shaken and still stirring passions, James Bond star Daniel Craig has some wispy grey strands appearing and we don't mind one bit. Daniel is best known for his highly popular incarnation of 007 in Quantam of Solace, Casino Royale, Skyfall and Spectre.

Craig’s casting in Casino Royale, the 2006 revamp of the James Bond franchise, was controversial, as he did not fit the physical type established in Ian Fleming’s novels and embodied to various degrees by such actors as Sean Connery and Pierce Brosnan. However, most critics were silenced by his brooding virile take on the martini-swilling spook (and that famous beach scene!)

Martin Kemp

Golden boy Spandau Ballet’s Martin Kemp can certainly still turn up the heat on a photo shoot.

Although it is widely assumed that Martin is a popstar-turned-actor, the reality is actually the opposite. From the age of 11 to 14 the young Martin starred in over 30 different productions – it wasn't until 1978 that he joined his big brother's school band as the bass player. A year later the group took the name Spandau Ballet and the rest is history.

Spandau Ballet were one of the defining bands of the Eighties, and Martin enjoyed incredible success with countless chart hits, sell-out tours, and classic pop tunes like True and Gold.

Most recently he's appeared on Celebrity Gogglebox with his son Roman.

Paul Young

For much of the '80s, singer Paul Young rivaled Simply Red's Mick Hucknall as the top blue-eyed soul/pop singer in the UK. Paul was in Q-Tips before going solo in 1982. His biggest worldwide hit followed in 1985 with a version of Daryl Hall's "Everytime You Go Away", which reached number 1 on the US pop charts.

The first group for which he became lead singer was Kat Kool & The Kool Kats. In the late 1970s he joined the Streetband, who had one Top 20 hit in the UK, with the humorous, novelty track "Toast".

Now he divides his time between family, the informal Tex-Mex group Los Pacaminos, and performing live during Eighties revival tours in the UK.

Pierce Brosnan

Actor Pierce Brosnan is best known for his role as James Bond (1995-2002). His first film in the series, GoldenEye (1995), made more than $350 million worldwide, the most ever for a Bond film at that time.

His popularity as Bond scored him an array of other roles, such as The Thomas Crown Affair, Laws of Attraction and The Tailor of Panama.

He's also got some musical talent, starring alongside Meryl Streep and Colin Firth in Mamma Mia! and the sequel, Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again in 2018.

Colin Firth

The British actor Colin Firthis known for his portrayals of aloof characters who gradually shed their reserve to become emotionally available, notably Mr. Darcy in a television adaptation of Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice (1995).

In 2001 Firth garnered further attention as Mark Darcy in the romantic comedy Bridget Jones’s Diary.

He's also known for his roles in The King’s Speech, The Girl with a Pearl Earring, Shakespeare in Love, Mamma Mia!, The Railway Man and Before I go to Sleep to name a few.

One thing's for certain – he can still catch our attention...

If his lovely French accent wasn't enough, he's a passionate foodie and romantic too. After beginning his career as front of house at a number of restaurants in France and London, he is now a famous face on TV as well as having his own books.

Brad Pitt

Not only is he a talented actor, but in recent years, Hollywood heartthrob, Brad Pitt has let his natural grey hair grow slightly and we're most definitely not complaining.

With over 90 films under his belt, including Fight Club, the Ocean's films and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood to name just a few, Brad shows no signs of slowing down.

Barack Obama

While many former Presidents and Prime Ministers can often look (understandably) rather exhausted following their time in office, it has done wonders for 44th President of the United States, Barack Obama.

At 59 years old, we love his greying hair and since leaving the White House, he's never looked better!
