There's nothing we love more on a dark, cold night than settling down with a cuppa to watch some Call the Midwife, and in recent years, we've said hello to some new faces, including midwife Rosalind Clifford, played by actress Natalie Quarry.
Natalie Quarry in Call the Midwife
Natalie was new to season 13 of Call the Midwife, as the new student midwife on the scene. While Rosalind is still quite new, she's an honest and loyal midwife who cares deeply for her patients.
Speaking about her love for Call the Midwife in an interview with Virgin Radio, Natalie said; “I properly watched the show when I was a teenager. I feel like I was the biggest fan in the family, but they are really excited because it is something that we all used to watch together.”
After leaving drama school as a teenager, she was so keen to be on the period drama that she actually sent them an email asking to be on the show: “When I was like 19. I was like ‘Put me in an episode!' So (episode one) is kind of a weird sort of full circle moment to me being big-headed and being like ‘I’d be good in Call the Midwife.’”
Natalie is back for Season 15 of Call The Midwife, so what can we expect for Rosalind?
Well, since the two-part Christmas special in 2024, the nurse has been getting close to Cyril Robinson, an engineer and civil pastor (played by Zephryn Taitte), who was previously married to nurse Lucille Robinson (Leonie Elliot).
The pair have been forming a bond after helping out at a homeless shelter, and in Season 15 their relationship blossomed.
However, they face some challenges. "A lot happens with her and Cyril and their relationship, and they’re both tested. It changes her perspective on some stuff, and there's good and there's bad. It's a big year for her, but an exciting year," Rosalie Clifford said.

While she is most famous for starring in Call the Midwife, the young actress has also appeared in TV series Doctors and Atlanta as well as the short film, The Silent Canary.

It's not publicly known who Natalie Quarry's parents are as she keeps her family life private.
Although speaking to Yours.co.uk about her rise to fame Natalie described them as incredibly supportive.
"I'm lucky that my parents are incredibly supportive. They're very open-minded people, you know, and and they just want me to be doing the work that I love and they're behind me, whatever I do, which means a lot. If I literally gave up tomorrow and decided to be a farmer, they would be proud of me. I'm very grateful to have a family who is like, 'if you want to do it and you're happy, then we're proud of you'."
She has been dating her partner Lewis Thorne, for a number of years now and revealed to us that he is just as supportive of her.
Speaking about her role in the proactive Indie film Think Of England, where she plays a young actress drawn into a morally ambiguous state project, she said: "My partner's coming to Glasgow to see (the film) it for the 1st time then, so I'm a bit nervous about that. He's incredibly supportive and been with me the whole time. We've been together for about 500 years! He was with living with me when I was shooting this and it was a really intense experience and it'll be exciting for him to see the final project."
Will Natalie Quarry be in series 16 of Call The Midwife?
It has been confirmed to us by writer Heidi Thomas that there will definitely be a series 16 of Call The Midwife.
We spoke to Heidi at the TV Choice Awards on 2 February 2026, where she confirmed that there will be a Call The Midwife series 16 — and shared some fascinating insights into what viewers can expect.
"I don't think it's the last series in the classic form," revealed Heidi. "But we are going to take a break from it for a couple of years."
The break, she explained, is due to her understandably packed schedule, with several exciting Call The Midwife projects currently in development.
"We going to do a film that involves most the current cast, set in 1972, possibly 1973," she says. "We're going to do that first, then we'll return to the current style. Series 16 will have a slightly different setting because of changes in NHS. It'll still be in the East End of London but possibly something like a small community hospital or a GP practice, but that's something I'll be working on later this year."
So while no final cast list has been announced we are confident that Natalie will reprise the role of Rosalind in series 16 and that we may see her walk down the isle with Cyril too.
Off-screen we chatted to, Zephryn Taitte who plays Cyril and Natalie, shared their thoughts on whether marriage could be on the cards for Rosalind and Cyril. “I hope so” Zephryn said with a smile, while Natalie added, “It would be fun, it would be nice to see them happy.”
But viewers shouldn’t get their hopes up just yet, as Zephryn teased, “It may not be this season", with Natalie adding, "Who knows?"

Natalie Quarry takes a bold step into feature films with Think of England, a satirical World War II drama set on the Orkney Islands. Playing a young actress caught in a morally complex government operation producing films for troops.
The film premieres at The Glasgow Film Festival on 6 and 7th March 2026 and then at the Manchester Film Festival on the 22nd March 2026.
