In January 2023, he announced he would be leaving his Radio 2 show and moving to Greatest Hits Radio. Former Family Fortunes presenter Vernon Kay was announced as Ken's replacement for the mid-morning slot.

The Popmaster quiz has been a regular feature of Ken Bruce's show since 16 February 1998. If you're not already familiar, the game has two players and each player is asked a series of ten questions based on the 1950s through to the present day. For correct answers, the contestant will receive three points. The third, sixth and ninth "bonus" questions are on a topic chosen by the contestant, from two options offered by the host prior to the start of the quiz. For these bonus questions, a short piece of music is played and if the player names the right artist and song, they earn six points.

The winning player from this round will go on to play Three-in-Ten where they have just ten seconds to name as many songs by a particular artist. Winners will bag themselves a smart speaker while the runner-up will win a 'One Year Out' t-shirt.

When he left his Radio 2 show, Popmaster left with him and you can now hear Ken host Popmaster on Greatest Hits Radio on your radio at home.

It has recently been announced that Popmaster will be making its TV debut too. The popular quiz is set to appear on TV for the first time in a new six-part series for More4.
