How old is Gethin Jones?
Gethin was born on 12 February 1978 in Cardiff, making him currently 45 years old.
He is the son of Sylvia (née Groskop), a violin teacher, and Goronwy Jones, headteacher of Baden Powell Primary School.
Are Gethin and Steve Jones related?
A lot of people assume that Gethin and fellow Welsh presenter Steve Jones are related in some way, however this is untrue.
Gethin does have an older sister called Mereid though who works for the NHS.
"My sister is my hero. She works for the NHS at a hospital and if you try to imagine the worst possible scenario - well she has seen it daily for the last year," says Gethin. "She is always there for people and also there for when people pass away. She does everything with such grace and hard work."
Is Gethin Jones married?
Gethin was previously engaged to Welsh singer Katherine Jenkins, but the pair split in December 2011 after getting together in 2007.
The opera singer is now married to American painter Andrew Levitas, and have two kids; Aaliyah and Xander.
"I have never given up finding the right partner for me," says Gethin. "I am currently single but can you tell me how you are supposed to have dated over the last year? I have, however, never made a secret of the fact I would love to get married one day."

Katherine Jenkins
Gethin first began dating Welsh opera singer Katherine Jenkins back in 2007. He proposed during a holiday to Mexico in 2011, but sadly 10 months later decided to call time on their relationship.
In the BBC documentary Being Katherine Jenkins the singer revealed she wasunsure of the reason for the split, saying: "At the end of 2011, when Gethin and I broke up, the reality of it was that, about two weeks later, I had to go on a UK tour where every night I'm singing songs of heartbreak.
"And every day just trying to find the energy to cope – let alone going on stage and understand his reason for doing it.
"Meanwhile, everybody else is under the impression it was my decision, my ambition – I wanted to take over the world. It was so far from the truth."
She is now married to American painter, Andrew Levitas, and they have two children together.
Lucy Mecklenburgh
Gethin also had a brief relationship with former TOWIE star Lucy Mecklenburgh. The pair dated back in 2014 for a few months before deciding to part ways due to busy work schedules.
Speaking to New! Magazine, Lucy said the timing just wasn’t right: “We went out a few times a while ago but it was bad timing for both of us.”
She is now married to Ryan Thomas and the pair have two children together.
Katja Zwara
German underwear model, Katja, is Gethin’s most recent romance. The pair began dating in 2017, but after just a year they decided to call time on their relationship due to their busy work schedules.

Morning Live
Currently airing on weekday mornings on BBC One, Morning Live first aired in October 2020 as a 40-part series and is currently in its fifth series. One of the shows most regular (and popular!) presenters, Gethin hosts the show along with Kym Marsh, Sara Cox, Sam Quek, Kimberly Walsh and Rav Wilding.
Talking about his love of the show, Gethin said: "I’ve never been involved in a show that is so interactive with our viewers. I mean that in the respect of not just saying, ‘Hey good show’, I mean that viewers say, ‘What about this? Have you considered that?’ We cover so much in 45 minutes and people have really jumped onto it and I feel very lucky to go to work every day on it."
Gethin Jones on Blue Peter
Gethin is most recognised for presenting the children's television series, Blue Peter from 2005 to 2008. During his time, Jones presented the show with Salmon, Konnie Huq, Matt Baker, Liz Barker and Andy Akinwolere.
As a presenter, he took on the action/adventure role filled by John Noakes and Peter Duncan in the past; highlights included flying with the Red Arrows and in a World War II Supermarine Spitfire, completing submarine escape training with the Royal Navy, surviving the Bolivian jungle, being attacked by an alligator in Louisiana, learning to race like a jockey, and fighting as a samurai warrior in Japan.
Gethin Jones on Strictly Come Dancing
In 2007, Gethin participated in Series 5 of Strictly Come Dancing, partnering Camilla Dallerup. He came third after being voted out in a dance-off in the semi-final.
He also appeared in the programme's Christmas Special, finishing second behind Darren Gough after each couple received a perfect score. He also took part in the Strictly Come Dancing: The Live Tour! 2009.

"I am never idle and am always doing lots of different things," smiles Gethin. "I have two dreams for the future – one is to build a school for kids with autism back in Wales, where my family live. My nephew, Alby, is autistic and it’s an issue I am incredibly passionate about. It’s an important subject to me. I would also love to do a programme looking at sport and children with mental health issues."
Gethin Jones' injury
Last year, Gethin surprised fans when he appeared on Morning Live using crutches, with his foot in a large supportive boot. He later shared that he had undergone surgery for ankle arthroscopy and lateral ligament reconstruction.
