You may know her best as Miss Higgins on Call The Midwife, but Georgie Glenn is an actress with a career that spans almost four decades.
Here's everything you need to know.
Georgie Glen: Movies and TV shows
Despite appearing in many popular shows, Georgie Glenn was not always an actress and initially had a job as an assistant book designer at Thames and Hudson in her 20s.
“After I got my degree in graphic design from Glasgow School of Art, I jumped down to London with my portfolio in search of a job,” the Scottish star explained in an interview with her hometown publication, The Helensburgh Advertiser, in 2013. “Painting and drawing were always my passions, but I had no real idea what I was going to do with them.”
It wasn't until she joined Floodlight Council, an organisation that helps adults learn different skills such as cookery, drama, music and computing, that she considered a career on stage and screen. “I signed myself up and took to the acting classes like a duck to water."
Since then, she has worked on many films and TV shows alongside some A-list stars, including Judi Dench, Hugh Jackman and Helen Mirren.
Call The Midwife
Georgie Glen was introduced as Miss Millicent Trilby Higgins, the surgery receptionist in the 2018 Call The Midwife Christmas special. A prim and proper character. As the series progressed, viewers uncovered more about her past.
It was revealed that Miss Higgins became romantically involved with tutor Krishnan Choudhary while working in a library in Shimla, India, but the pair kept their attachment a secret as it was forbidden to mingle with each other.
She had a son but as their relationship was taboo, they gave him away to a family. She reunited with him for the first time in season 13 and was delighted to hear that he had a son who was studying in Liverpool.
However, her son sadly dies and she's grieving the loss of him, what happened in her past and the life they could've had. We saw her grandson come to stay in the 2024 Christmas special, but Miss Higgins is still trying to get to grips with it all and hasn't told anyone who Harry really is.
Speaking to Radio Times, Georgie said it's "a new reality within that new discovery because... she's lived a long life just with the grief and the memory of what happened. And although her son has now died, she has at least been reunited with him, and she has gained his son, and her life is enriched by that; it's changed her life completely."
Waterloo Road
From 2012 to 2015, Georgie Glen appeared as a no-nonsense history teacher and a series regular in Waterloo Road (a drama set in a comprehensive school). People see it as nosey and interfering, but the teacher's actions come from a place of wanting to help the students.
The show has gone on to include other famous faces including soap stars Angela Griffin, Melanie Walters, Adam Thomas andDenise Welch, Bridgerton's Regé-Jean Page, Jodie Comer (Killing Eve) and Jenna Coleman (Victoria, Emmerdale) to Richie Campbell (Grace), who plays Ndale, a man that proposes to Audrey.
Heartbeat
You may recognise Georgie Glen from Heartbeat, where she played Sergeant Jennifer Nokes. She first appeared as the cover for Sgt Raymond Craddock (Philip Franks) while he was on holiday.
The Crown
On The Crown, Georgie Glen played Ruth Roche, Lady Fermoy, who was the maternal Grandmother of Lady Diana Spencer and lady-in-waiting to the Queen Mother. You can find her performance on Season 4, Episode 3, titled 'Fairytale'.
Doc Martin
Georgie Glen made a brief appearance in Doc Martin, the ITV drama starring Martin Clunes as the titular character.

Georgie Glen's Husband
The actress hasn't discussed her relationships, but it's assumed she is married.
Georgie Glen's twins
She has however, spoken briefly about her two twin daughters called Eleanor and Holly, who were 23 at the time she did her interview for the Helensburgh Advertiser:
““I never left Helensburgh! Yes, I moved to the capital in my twenties but my family are still here. I bring my twin daughters Holly and Eleanor, 23, to visit regularly. The girls love their Scottish relatives, they grew up here as much as I did.”
