Spring is in the air! As we face the end of winter, what better than to wind down to a good film. During the lockdown, there is no better time to cosy up and watch some films on the tele. From family classics like Jurassic Park (1993) to uplifting movies such as Little Women (1994), there is something for everyone's taste.

While streaming services give us a huge assortment of films at our fingertips, sometimes the choices can be overwhelming.

This week let us pick out the films for you!

Monday 1st March

Road to Bali (1953) - March 1, 1:05pm on Sony Movies

In this musical two men flee to Australia to avoid a shotgun wedding and pose as deep-sea divers to get jobs on the island of Bali. Comedy musical, starring Bob Hope, Bing Crosby, Dorothy Lamour, Jerry Lewis, Jane Russell and Dean Martin

Me and Earl and the Dying Girl (2015) – March 1, 6:55 pm, Film4

An awkward teenager who loves to make films with his best friend is urged by his mother to spend time with a girl who is diagnosed with leukaemia. The two develop an unlikely friendship, however, his life is turned upside when her condition gets worse. However, his life is changed forever as her condition gets worse. Comedy-drama based on Jesse Andrews' novel, starring Thomas Mann, RJ Cyler and Olivia Cooke

Tuesday 2nd March

Move Over, Darling (1963) – March 2, 9 pm, Sony Movies Classic

When a woman returns home to America after being marooned on an island for five years, she plans to surprise her husband. However, he has remarried and is off on his romantic honeymoon. Starring: Don Knotts, Doris Day, Fred Clark, James Garner, Polly Bergen, Thelma Ritter

The Passenger (1975) – March 2, 10:30 pm on Talking Pictures

A journalist who is assigned to North Africa finds somebody dead in his hotel. He decides to assume the dead identity as he fears for his own life. Drama, starring Jack Nicholson, Maria Schneider, Ian Hendry and Steven Berkoff

Wednesday 3rd March

In the American Civil War, four sisters raised by their strong-willed mother have different desires for life. One would like to become a writer and another sister dreams of being married. The sisters remain united as the family steers through hard times and tragic events. The Hound of the Baskervilles (1959) – March 3, 7:10 pm on Sony Movies Classics

In this mystery, Sherlock Holmes and Dr Watson are asked to protect the last remaining member of the aristocratic Baskerville family, who is believed to be the next target of a beast roaming around the Devon moors. Arthur Conan Doyle's mystery, starring Peter Cushing, Andre Morrell, Christopher Lee, John Le Mesurier and Miles Malleson

Breaking In (2018) – March 3, 9 pm on Film4

Hearing of her father’s murder, a woman and her two children go back to the home she was raised in, intending to settle her father’s estate and sell the property. However, four criminals are already in the house waiting for their arrival. Thriller, starring Gabrielle Union, Billy Burke and Richard Cabral

Thursday 4th March

Stargate (1994) – March 4, 6:40 pm on Film4

In this sci-fi adventure, an Egyptologist and a soldier go on an expedition through a mysterious portal to an alien planet. The world they find looks like ancient Egypt and is under the rule of a tyrant who has convinced the downtrodden inhabitants that he is a god. Adventure starring Kurt Russell, James Spader and Jaye Davidson.

A United Kingdom – March 4, 9 pm, BBC Four

King Seretse Khama of Botswana put his kingdom into a political and diplomatic uproar after falling in love with Ruth Williams, a London office worker. Fact-based drama from Belle director Amma Assante, starring David Oyelowo and Rosamund Pike

Friday 5th March

Cover Girl (1944) - March 5, 4:50 pm on Sony Movies

In a small New York club, dancer Rusty Parker and her choreographer boyfriend Danny McGuire, get a taste of fame when she wins a competition to appear on the cover of an esteemed magazine. This leads to her becoming the star in a hit musical. Despite her successes, her relationship with Danny is at risk. Musical comedy, starring Rita Hayworth and Gene Kelly

Arrival (2016) – March 5, 9 pm, Film4

When twelve mysterious alien spaceships arrive in multiple locations across the world, the tension between the countries rises as they try to find a way to communicate with the aliens and their intention. The US army hires a linguist and physicists to learn the language of the alien species. Sci-fi drama, starring Amy Adams and Jeremy Renner

Kingsman: The Secret Service (2015)- March 5, 9 pm on Channel 4

A teenager is recruited by his deceased father’s old colleague, an agent working for a secret spy organisation. Will the boy be able to prove he is up to his fathers’ skills by proving he is useful during a battle against a hi-tech genius? Action comedy based on a comic book, starring Colin Firth, Taron Egerton and Samuel L Jackson

Saturday 6th March

Me Before You (2016) - March 6, 1:20 pm on Channel 5

A woman is hired to take care of a cynical man who has been paralysed for the past two years following a motorcycle accident. Her upbeat spirit shows him he has still got something to live for, but he fears becoming a burden and considers ending his life. Romantic drama based on Jojo Moyes' novel, starring Emilia Clarke, Sam Claflin, Charles Dance andJenna Coleman

The Fifth Element (1997)- March 6, 6:25 pm on Paramount Network

Set in the 23rd century, Earth faces destruction from a seemingly unstoppable force of pure evil. Meanwhile, a New York taxi driver picks up a mysterious woman destined to save the Earth from destruction. Luc Besson's sci-fi adventure, starring Bruce Willis, Milla Jovovich and Gary Oldman

Gifted (2017)- March 6, 6:25 pm on Film 4

When single man Frank Adler attempts to raise his child prodigy niece, Mary, he is shocked at the youngster's mathematical abilities. Drama, starring Chris Evans, Lindsay Duncan and Mckenna Grace

Eddie the Eagle (2016) - March 6, 6:55pm on Channel 4

In this biopic of British sporting underdog Eddie Edwards, he fulfils his dreams of becoming an Olympic athlete. He trains as a ski jumper - a field in which Britain had no other competitors. Starring Taron Egerton, Hugh Jackman and Christopher Walken

Sunday 7th March

Jurassic Park (1993) - March 7, 6:25 pm on ITV 2

In Steven Spielberg's action-adventure, Jurassic Park, scientists are given a preview of a safari park that is filled with genetically engineered dinosaurs. However, it all goes wrong when a greedy employee sabotages the security systems, allowing the creatures to run free and hunt the visitors. Adventure, starring Sam Neill, Laura Dern, Jeff Goldblum, Richard Attenborough and Samuel L Jackson
