It’s a busy year for Aimee Lou Wood, who is shining in a lead role as Chelsea, Walton Goggins' girlfriend, in the iconic satirical series The White Lotus. She also stars in the upcoming Netflix series Toxic Town (about the real Corby poisonings) and is about to make her writing debut with Film Club, a romantic comedy-drama for the BBC that she's co-created, written, and starred in with fellow actor Ralph Davis.

The new show, which is set to air on BBC Three later this year, sees close friends Evie (Aimee Lou Wood) and Noa (Nabhaan Rizwaan) spend every Friday night together in their very own Film Club.

However, things are set to change for the pair as Noa is pursuing a dream job that means moving to the other side of the country, and Evie, who has been house-bound for six months after a 'wobble', will no longer be munching on popcorn with her best pal.

"They’re going to be forced to consider for the first time they might be more than just friends. Neither of them are the best when it comes to emotions but this time those emotions might be impossible to ignore...", teases the BBC synopsis.

Film Club cast

Aside from Aimee and Nabhaan, there are some more well-known faces in Film Club, including BAFTA winner Surranne Jones and Miss Austen star Liv Hill as Evie's mother and sister, respecitvely.
