She recently marked her 65th birthday and TV presenter Denise Welch certainly seems to have got the measure of life. It’s a year of milestones for the star, who has became a grandmother for the first time, celebrated 11 years since she quit alcohol and is soon set to see in her tenth wedding anniversary with artist husband Lincoln Townley. The couple will mark a decade of marriage next month, and Denise recently revealed they were thinking about returning to Portugal, where they wed, to celebrate.
"This decade has been one of the happiest in my life for two reasons," Denise revealed, "I met my husband and have an incredibly happy marriage that I love and nurture. And two, because I got sober."
Chatting about how she plans on celebrating, Denise said, "Big parties are not my thing any more. I'm going to do lots of little bits and pieces with my girlfriends throughout the year. A big party just isn't for me." The Waterloo Road star also spoke recently about how she was set to enjoy a “little adventure” with Lincoln, even leaving her phone at home while she took a brief break from Loose Women. Denise is embracing what life has in store. “I’m happier and healthier in my 60s than I was in my 40s and 50s,” revealed the star, who also stopped smoking ten years ago.
