Dancing On Ice will be returning to our screens at the start of 2023 and we can't wait!
Here’s everything we know about Dancing On Ice 2023 so far...
Dancing On Ice judges
Oti Mabuse joined the Ice Panel last year, replacing John Barrowman. She sits alongside fellow judges Ashley Banjo, Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean. Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby will return to present the greatest show on ice.
Commenting on taking on this new role last year, Oti said: "As a professional dancer I have always had so much respect for the skating professionals on Dancing On Ice. It is an exceptional skill that is also so beautiful to watch. I'm feeling really enthusiastic about joining the panel alongside the legendary Torvill and Dean and Ashley Banjo. I can't wait to see the celebrities thrive as they learn how to ice-skate and to champion the professional skaters as they create incredible choreography. Having been on both sides of the table, I know a little bit about how they’ll be feeling. It's more than an honour and I already can’t wait to join the family."
Dancing on Ice 2023 celebrity line-up
The celebrities taking to the ice in 2023 will be:
Joey Essex
The 32-year-old reality star is most famous for appearing on The Only Way Is Essex.
He said: "I'm so excited! I wanted something in my life that would bring me structure. It's more serious than what I normally do. I'm not the best skater, I did it when I was maybe like 11. It's scary, it's a competition. When I did 'The Jump', which was sort of similar, I don't know how I won that. But again, this is one of those shows that I'm looking at thinking 'I would love to win.'"
The Vivienne
The Vivienne won the first UK series of RuPaul's Drag Race UK in 2019. The drag queen - whose real name is James Lee Williams - said, "This is honestly a dream come true and I can't wait to start training on the ice. To be the first drag artist to take part in one of the big UK reality competition shows is truly an honour.
"I think it's a big step forward for queer representation on TV."
Mollie Gallagher
Coronation Street star Mollie Gallagher, who plays Nina Lucas in the soap will also be taking to the ice. She said: "I’m really excited. I’ve not really felt nervous yet, strangely. But being here today, I am now feeling it a little bit."
Nile Wilson
Olympic gymnast Nile Wilson will also be taking to the ice. The 26-year-old revealed the news on his YouTube channel, saying: “I'm going to be on ITV’s Dancing on Ice!
“This is a really cool thing. I’ve certainly not done much ice-skating but I am so excited for the opportunity. I’m so excited to get into that routine and to feel like an athlete again.”
Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu
Love Island 2022 winner has also been confirmed for Dancing on Ice. Appearing on ITV's Good Morning Britain, she
said in a pre-recorded video: "I've got some amazing news to tell you – I will be doing [next] year's Dancing on Ice. "I'm so excited for the team. I can't wait to get myself on the ice and skate. Stay tuned, and see you on the ice!"
John Fashanu
The former Aston Villa footballer and Gladiators presenter will also be taking to the ice. The 60-year-old star said: “I'm so excited to be a part of Dancing on Ice.
"I don't think it'll come as a surprise to people that I'm very competitive - I am definitely in it to win it. And this may be one of the scariest things I've ever signed up for but I couldn't be more ready for the challenge!"
Patsy Palmer
The 50-year-old former soap star, Patsy Palmer was the first celebrity to be announced. Speaking about the challenge, the actress - who is best known for playing Bianca Jackson in EastEnders - told This Morning, "Out of all the things that came through at that time, this was the one that I had to really think about. Obviously, I wanted to challenge myself, get back to work and get out of my comfort zone. And I just thought I'll just go for it - it seems like
a lot of fun. I do like ice skating, but I'm not an ice skater."
Carley Stenson
The ex-Hollyoakes actress turned West End star sounds eager to get on the ice.
"I'm so excited that I get to learn how to dance...on ice!"
She added: "I'm terrified but can’t wait - I just want to make the most of this whole experience."
Darren Harriott
Comedian and presenter Darren Herriot announced the news that he was joining Dancing on Ice on Trisha Goddard’s TalkTV show, saying: “I’ve got giant feet, I don't skate and I can't dance! My family has already made bets - they’re making bets that I’ll fall on the first episode!”
Michelle Heaton
Michelle was a member of pop group Liberty X, who formed on 2001 ITV talent show Popstars as an alternative band to winners Hear'Say.
She was also a contestant on Celebrity Big Brother in 2009 and a judge and mentor on Irish series You're A Star in 2007-2008.
She told Lorraine: "I'm so excited - I can't believe it. Me and the kids are such huge fans of the show in general."
Siva Kaneswaran
The Dublin-born singer, from the band The Wanted, told Good Morning Britain he had been inspired to sign up for the programme by the actions of his late bandmate Tom Parker, who died in March aged 33 from a brain tumour.
"He taught me so much about life," said Kaneswaran. "He taught me to live life to the fullest and not be afraid. It is one of the reasons why I am doing this show."
Dancing on Ice professional skaters for 2023
While the celebrity and professional skating partnerships are yet to be confirmed, ITV has revealed the professional skaters for the 2023 series.
A new addition to the 2023 line-up to Dancing on Ice is world-class ice dancer Olivia Smart. Fresh from the 2022 Winter Olympics, Olivia brings a wealth of experience and undeniable talent to the line-up of professionals.
Returning to the new series are three Dancing on Ice favourites - Sylvain Longchambon, who last skated in the 2019 series and Vicky Ogden and Klabera Komini who both last skated in the 2021 series.
Meanwhile, Matt Evers, who has been a part of Dancing on Ice since it launched in 2006, returns to the show alongside fellow series favourites Alexandra Schauman and husband Łukasz Różycki, Mark Hanretty, Brendyn Hatfield, Vanessa Bauer, Tippy Packard and Colin Grafton.
When will Dancing on Ice 2023 start?
Although we don't yet have an official start date for the new series, it's expected to begin on either the first or second week of January 2023. We do know that the show will be on Sunday nights.
