The royal family has faced its share of challenges in recent years, but there’s one relatively low-key royal who’s quietly winning over the hearts and minds of the British public. Arthur Chatto is proving that the younger generation of royals might just be what the monarchy needs right now. But who is he, and why has he captured so much attention? We’re here to share everything you need to know about the royal that everyone, including us, can’t stop talking about.

So, who is Arthur Chatto?

Arthur Chatto is the great-nephew of the late Queen Elizabeth II and the son of Lady Sarah Chatto (Princess Margaret's daughter). He, of course, is part of the British royal family, which naturally sparks public interest. However, until late, he was relatively unknown. Whilst he's not as prominent as some of his royal relatives, like Princess Beatrice, his connections to the monarchy make him an intriguing figure for royal watchers, especially as younger family members gain more attention.

The Arthur Chatto buzz

Arthur amassed over 150,000 Instagram followers, earning the title the 'good-looking royal.' Unlike senior royals, his position in the family exempts him from the 'no social media' rule, adding to the public's intrigue. On his account, he shared glimpses of his fitness journey, adventures, and personal life. However, the overwhelming attention eventually led him to deactivate his profile.

Arthur Chatto's education

Like many of the royal family, Arthur Chatto attended Eton College with his brother Sam. Eton is a renowned boarding school in the United Kingdom known for its royal alumni, including Prince William and Harry.

After Eton, Arthur pursued higher education at the University of Edinburgh, where he studied geography. His studies focused on topics like environmental challenges and exploration, aligning with his passion for sustainability and adventure.

Arthur later began military training, joining the Royal Marines as an officer cadet. This rigorous training reflects his dedication to fitness, discipline, and service.

Arthur Chatto's family life

Arthur Chatto comes from a quieter branch of the British royal family, balancing royal ties with a grounded upbringing. He is the younger son of Lady Sarah Chatto, niece of Queen Elizabeth II, and Daniel Chatto, an artist and former actor. Arthur has an older brother, Samuel, who is a ceramic artist. Despite being 29th in line to the throne, Arthur’s family has always maintained a low profile, focusing on a more private and understated lifestyle. Raised away from the royal spotlight, the Chatto family is known for their close bond and connection to the senior royals, often attending key family events like weddings and Christmas at Sandringham.
