Who doesn’t love the idea of being Charlie Bucket for the day and exploring a wonderful world of chocolate? Easter is a great time to head to the home of Cadbury chocolate in Bournville, Birmingham. Cadbury World is a brilliant day out for the whole family and there’s plenty to see and do in one day.

Chocolate factory

The day out is made up of three brilliant areas. The outdoor area has a fantastic outdoor play area, 4D show to see and a very entertaining character show to enjoy. Inside, the self-guided tour begins with learning all about the history of the Cadbury family and their journey from a tea shop to the leading chocolatier they are today.

You’ll then learn all about cocoa beans and how they are transformed into the chocolate we all know and love. You’ll also get given plenty of bars of chocolate along the way to eat whilst you learn. There’s also plenty of ways to get involved in the making, tempering and tasting of chocolate all around Cadbury World.

Family with the Cadbury characters

After all the exploring and learning, you’ll no doubt be peckish. Make sure you pre-book a Cadbury character afternoon tea! It’s perfect for big ones and little ones with a separate afternoon tea for children that is more to their taste. Whist you eat, drink and indulge in chocolatey desserts, you’ll be visited by a host of famous Cadbury characters including Freddo Frog and the Cadbury’s Caramel Bunny. Make sure you also take a trip to the Cadbury World shop before you leave where you'll find plenty of chocolate and other Cadbury Merchandise.
